Our Management Team

Abhishek Bhatia

Founder, Group Chief
Executive Officer and Executive Director

Abhishek is the founder of and helms Oona’s growth roadmap and development. His passion for digitizing and simplifying insurance and providing best in class customer experience inspired him to establish Oona. He has 25 years of experience across various geographies and industries. Before founding Oona, he was with FWD Group where he served as Group Chief Officer of New Business Models and CEO for FWD Singapore. Prior to that he was the CEO of Prudential Poland and held numerous senior roles across the globe, including Malaysia and India. He is an Economics Graduate from SRCC, University of Delhi and holds a post-graduate in Management from IIM Kolkata.

angela Tan

Group Chief
Financial Officer

Angela oversees our financial direction and strategy management across the Group. She started her insurance career in Malaysia where she was deeply involved in the re-listing of an insurance entity and a merger. Her career in insurance has taken her to various jurisdictions including Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and Singapore where she has held both the local and regional CFO roles. She holds an LLB and BComm from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and is a member of the Malaysian Bar and a CFA charterholder.

Sourabh Chatterjee

Technology Officer

Sourabh is a digital enthusiast who is passionate about using technology to solve business problems at scale. At Oona, his endeavour is to deliver an insurance technology stack which is modular, scalable, secure and a ‘delight’ for all end users. Prior to joining Oona, Sourabh worked with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, in India, as their Chief Information and Digital Officer along with serving on the board of Bajaj Finserv Markets. In his 23+ years of insurance career across multiple geographies, Sourabh has worked with organizations like ICICI Lombard in India and with Infosys technologies in the US for over a decade. Sourabh holds a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD business school.

Manik Bucha

Group Chief
Underwriting Officer

Manik is a seasoned P&C Leader with over 15 years of experience spanning across pricing, portfolio management, underwriting, product management and end-to-end P&L ownership running scaled insurance portfolios. A firm believer in the industry's 'Why', Manik is passionate about inspiring and creating young believers in the industry and most importantly, doing his part in driving much needed insurance penetration in Asia. At Oona, Manik is on a mission to build and deliver customer-centric insurance solutions led by risk prevention VS traditional risk transfer models. He holds a double masters in Finance and Information Systems from BITS Pilani (India).

Mylene Ong

Group Chief
Marketing Officer

As Group Chief Marketing Officer of Oona, Mylene spearheads the company's marketing strategy, brand recognition, and direct-to-consumer sales channel. Her focus is on realizing Oona’s vision of democratizing insurance, making it accessible for more people to secure their futures. With over 25 years of international and domestic marketing experience, Mylene brings unparalleled expertise to the role. Previously, she led Digital Sales and Marketing at Citibank Singapore and served as Director of Communications for Southeast Asia at Mastercard. Mylene's 20-year advertising career includes directing brand strategy for global and local brands in Singapore, New York, Shanghai, and Auckland.

MICHELLE NG

Group Head of Strategy and Performance Management

Michelle oversees performance management and value creation of Oona Group. As part of the Leadership team at Oona, she passionately finds alignment and collaboration with local management teams across Oona's geographical presence. She has 17 years of experience in strategy and management consulting in the banking and insurance industry across Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Oona, Michelle worked as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Strategy& (former Booz & Company) and PricewaterhouseCoopers Deals Advisory. She holds a BSc (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. She was a scholarship holder under the Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia).

FARRAH CULLINANE

Group Chief Legal Officer & Chief Compliance Officer

Farrah oversees our legal, compliance and corporate secretarial functions across the Group. A qualified solicitor in England and Wales, she began her career in the UK but has spent the majority of it in Singapore and, previously, Hong Kong, working across various Asian jurisdictions. Since 2014, Farrah has been deeply involved in the insurance industry - before joining Oona, she led the APAC legal team at Aetna International and, prior to that, was in private practice with DLA Piper, specialising in cross-border M&A and insurance regulatory work.

Andreas is dedicated to realizing Oona's vision of becoming the most customer-driven general insurance provider. At Oona, he spearheads user experience and digital product management across all platforms, including direct-to-consumer, agency, partner, and intermediary channels. With over a decade of leadership experience in high-growth startups across Southeast Asia and beyond, Andreas brings design thinking and a product-first approach to every process, enhancing the overall customer experience and maximizing the value proposition of Oona's insurance offerings.

Li Fan

Director

Li Fan serves as Director at Oona and as Managing Director at Warburg Pincus. Prior to Warburg Pincus, he worked at KKR, M3 Capital Partners and Gaw Capital Partners. He is currently a Board Director of Lodgis Hospitality Holdings, BW Industrial Development JSC, Asia Self Storage and NWP Property. LI Fan holds a Master of Philosophy in Real Estate Finance from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Science in Economics from HKUST Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Fudan University.

Saurabh Agarwal

Director

Saurabh serves as Director at Oona and as Managing Director at Warburg Pincus. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he worked at McKinsey & Company in New Jersey and New Delhi, and Temasek Holdings in Mumbai. Saurabh is currently a Director of Circles.Life, CleanMax Enviro Solutions, Converge ICT, MoMo Pay and Techcombank, and previously served on the boards of several companies. He holds a B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Microelectronics from IIT Bombay, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Yen Min Goh

Director

Yen Goh serves as a Director at Oona and as a Principal at Warburg Pincus. Yen joined Warburg Pincus in 2016 – initially based in New York, Yen has subsequently relocated to Singapore, and she currently focuses on investments in Southeast Asia across multiple sectors, including financial services and insurance. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Yen worked as a management consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, based in Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors (University Medal) from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Business Administration (Palmer Scholar) from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
